2024 Men’s Open Bodybuilding (Mr. Olympia)

The Men’s Open Division is the ultimate arena in professional bodybuilding (freak show). In this category, athletes display exceptional muscle size, definition, and symmetry. With no weight or height restrictions, competitors have the freedom to develop their physiques to their fullest potential.

In an incredibly close contest, Samson Dauda clinched his first Mr. Olympia title, surpassing former champions Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford. Dauda’s exceptional size and conditioning gave him the edge that swayed the judges in his favor.

For the third consecutive year, the Mr. Olympia title has been awarded to a newcomer, highlighting a shift in the once-dominant dynasties of the sport. As unpredictability infuses the Men’s Open division, we might just be witnessing the birth of a new dynasty with Dauda at the helm.

    2024 Olympia Classic Physique Results

The Classic Physique division, often referred to as the perfect blend between the Open and Men’s Physique divisions, was introduced by the IFBB Pro League to honor the golden era of bodybuilding. Here, aesthetics, symmetry, and proportion are paramount. Competitors in this category boast more muscle mass than those in Men’s Physique, yet aren’t as large as the titans in the Men’s Open Division. Classic Physique places the spotlight on achieving a harmonious balance of muscle size combined with an aesthetically pleasing form — think broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and well-defined leg muscles.

Here’s a familiar story: Chris Bumstead is again your Classic Physique Olympia champion. This marks his sixth consecutive victory. Meanwhile, Mike Sommerfeld made waves by securing second place and significantly challenging Bumstead’s reign. Nevertheless, Bumstead remained unbeatable in the end.

Following his triumphant win, Bumstead made the surprising announcement of retiring from competitive bodybuilding. He leaves the sport at the pinnacle of his career, having redefined the division and inspired a fresh wave of fans. This exciting development paves the way for Sommerfeld, Urs Kalecinski, and the rest of the impressive lineup to shine in 2025.

For the Classic Physique division, here’s a quick overview of the 2024 results in a table:

    2024 Men’s Physique Olympia Results

The Men’s Physique division is a dynamic and fast-growing category within the IFBB Pro League, introduced in 2012. This division is perfect for athletes who aim to present an aesthetically appealing and more realistic physique compared to the traditional hypertrophic builds seen in other categories. In Men’s Physique, the spotlight is on a lean, well-defined, and muscular form that emphasizes ideal proportions, symmetry, and overall presentation. It resonates with a wide audience, mirroring the physique goals of many fitness enthusiasts.

With both Brandon Hendrickson and Diogo Montenegro absent from the 2024 lineup, Ryan Terry and Erin Banks emerged as favorites in the Men’s Physique Olympia competition. Yet, Ali Bilal turned heads with his impeccable form, adding unexpected excitement to the mix.

During the competitive final callout of the prejudging round, Bilal, Banks, Emanuel Hunter, Corey Morris, Edvan Palmeira, and Ryan Terry showcased their top-tier physiques.

Terry elevated his formidable core and brought supreme conditioning, ultimately securing his second-consecutive Olympia title.

Bilal impressed with a remarkably balanced physique, hinting at the evolving standards in the Men’s Physique arena. His harmonious lower and upper body earned him the silver medal at only his third Olympia attempt.

Erin Banks, a former Olympia champion, showcased his notable wide and thick back, earning him a spot in the first callout. Yet, he had to settle for third, mirroring his result from the prior year.

    2024 212 Olympia Results

The 212 Division, often called the 212 Olympia, is a distinct category in the IFBB Pro League. It serves athletes who are typically shorter, under 5’5″ in height, and lighter in weight. This division offers a competitive stage for those who weigh 212 pounds or less. It ensures fair competition, as these athletes face off against others with similar builds rather than competing against larger counterparts in other categories.

You could feel the excitement in the 212 division as top-tier athletes brought their best to the Olympia stage. This year’s 212 Olympia turned into an epic showdown between Keone Pearson and Shaun Clarida, each vying for the coveted title.

Keone Pearson displayed a remarkable transformation from last year. With significantly increased muscle mass and enhanced leg definition, he created a remarkable X-frame. His hard work paid off as he clinched his second consecutive 212 title, becoming the first since Flex Lewis to achieve back-to-back wins at the Olympia from 2012 to 2018.

The pre-judging round had everyone on edge as Pearson and Clarida were the final pair called out. Shaun Clarida demonstrated his trademark conditioning, looking incredibly shredded. Despite his confidence and stunning presentation, he ultimately took home the silver.

Angel Calderon Frias and Kerrith Bajjo joined the final callout, maintaining their strong third and fourth-place finishes from last year. Impressively, Vitor Oliveira made an unforgettable first appearance, securing a fifth-place finish on his Olympia debut.

    2024 Wheelchair Olympia Results

The Wheelchair Division was created to give athletes with disabilities a platform to compete professionally, displaying their incredible strength, conditioning, and unwavering dedication. By featuring the Wheelchair division, the IFBB Pro League emphasizes its commitment to diversity and inclusivity, proving that physical limitations aren’t barriers to achieving excellence in bodybuilding.

The 2024 Olympia witnessed an unparalleled lineup in the Wheelchair division as twelve bodybuilders showcased their impressive physiques.

Karol Milewski astonished fans at the 2023 Olympia by defeating the reigning five-time champion, Harold Kelley. Anticipation was high for their rematch at the 2024 Olympia. However, the presence of the remarkable French competitor, Kevin Secundino, turned the event into an exhilarating three-way contest for the championship.

Ultimately, Kelley reaffirmed his supremacy by clinching his sixth title at the 2024 Olympia. Secundino followed closely, earning an impressive second place, while Milewski finished in third.
